Prompt of the Week & Schedule of what's to come

Please select a topic to focus on for the next six weeks, and independently brainstorm 6-10 questions around your chosen topic.

Next class period we will be researching our topics through class discussion. Be sure to come prepared to share three of your six questions.

As spoken of in class, you can find our schedule for the next six weeks here:

Please keep in mind: every day counts - research progress and proof-read posts are expected.

Day One (As stated above): select a topic of interest and develop 6-10 questions about your topic. Record these questions within the form on our class website (or through a form of technology of your choice - please email me if you are seeking alternative avenues).

Day Two: We will be exploring and collectively brainstorming questions for each other for the first half of class. The second half of class we will be directing our attention to researching our topics. We will pay attention not only to what is said in the articles we read but how the words are shared. Homework will be to select two articles related to your topic, and to highlight/comment on how the author uses words and phrases to enhance his/her message (a.k.a: the phrases and elements that explain/exemplify the authors style or opinion).

Day Three: Class will be dedicated to partner and table discussion around questions formed and research done. We will spend the first portion of our class peer reviewing and guiding each other's blog posts. All of our topics will have related sample surveys or studies. We will use the remainder of our class time to unpack specific examples of these surveys and studies looking specifically for randomization.

Day Four - Day Fourteen: check the complete overview here.
